Which Home Theater system should I get?

There are too may to mention! Just visit any big box consumer electronics store and you will see. Onkyo, makes a very good product, and the quality of their product is consistent whether you spend $500 or $5000. My advise, buy the Onkyo, most other HTIB in that price range are over hipped junk. You will see many of them state things like 1000 Watts Output; but when you actually look at the spec., the watts ratting is not RMS, it is peak to peak, at 10% distortion. If you look at a $200 receiver, you will find that at their rated output, (there are rated in RMS), they have less than 1% distortion. Big number helps sell stuff, so the manufacturers like to put big number on the side of the boxes, and retailers like to publish them. Good luck

With $550 you cannot have and Onkyo! What about the speakers, I own an Onkyo with $1600 in speakers, you must save more $$$ or get something that comes in a box.
