How to connect PC to TV?

How do you connect 2.1 PC speakers to a TV?

  • umm i want to connect a 2.1 (2 speakers and 1 subwoofer) pc speakers to my LCD tv, and some say that i shoud use my scart (from xbox 360) and use the speaker cables there, but the problem is, i don't use scart, i use HDMI, i want to connect the speakers to my tv, not in the console. what cables/adapters do i need and what outputs do i need on my tv, i have a white and one red and a yellow output... do i need to care about the yellow? the speakers have a 3.5mm cable, and where the hell am i supposed to put it? and on my speakers box it says the 3.5mm cable from the subwoofer (i've put the speakers there) is green, and i have a green PC HDMI audio output on my tv but the sound still comes from the tv speakers...

  • Answer:

Hey mate, real easy this one. Check if your LCD has a headphone connection. If it has then plug your 3.5mm jack from your speakers set into it. No headphones socket no worries. Look to the baxk of your set and find the outputs. The red and white are your audio outs and the yellow is video out(don't worry about that). You'll need to buy this bit of kit here though to be able to plug in your 3.5mm jack to the output (see link). That should sort you out. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-5mm-Stereo-Jack-Socket-2-x-Phono-RCA-Plugs-Adapter-/220611754360?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item335d7c3978
