How can I hook up my PS3 to speakers?

How would I hook up my surround sound speakers to my HDTV/PS3?

• So I got a surround sound speaker set for christmas and have been using it wtih my PC but I want to use it with my HDTV/PS3. It came with three sets of identical wires for hooking it up to a TV, all with one green end to hook into the control tower thing and a red and white end for hooking it into the TV. only problem is that I can only get my TV to play out of 2/5 speakers and it won't play out of the Bass either =\ anyone know how I can get it to play out of all the speakers?   You can't do this I'm afraid. The reason is that your surround system has an input for each channel, ie one for the front, one for the rear, one for the sub woofer etc. This shows that the surround system does not have a built in 5.1 decoder. Systems with the decoder built in would usually have only one pair of input sockets, left and right (white/red), just like a normal stereo. If your TV's red/white plugs were connected to them the decoder in the surround system would then split the 2 channel signal into 6 channels and send each one to the appropriate speaker. As far as I know, you can't buy a 5.1 decoder on its own since surround systems have them built in. The surround system you are using is meant for computers so the only way is to get a proper home theatre system. I would recommend the Acoustic Solutions DS534 which is available from Maplin Electronics or Argos for £99. This is an excellent value for money peice of kit.
