How to hook up PIP on old TV?

How do I hook all of my new and old systems up to a new tv and an old receiver?

  • Here is how my old TV was set up TV---receiver----3 way switch (XBOX 360, VCR, & a laptop) Here is how I want it to work now TV---3 way switch |---Receiver My TV has plenty of inputs and that is not the problem. The problem is it only has 1 audio output which is a coaxial cable...the orange one. My receiver ONLY has the RCA (red, white, and yellow) inputs and outputs. How on earth can I hook this up the way I want without paying a new receiver?

Your probably going to have to get an audio digital to analog converter box...

Newer tv only provides you an optical audio output. this has to be connected to a receiver, home theater in a box with optical audio input or a sound bar. This is a digital signal with multi channel sound that has to be decoded by a Dolby digital decoder. Your old receiver does not have that capability. You can connect everything to the tv directly and then connect the left and right audio signal from you gear to the receiver. Hope this will help you out.
