Is it possible to watch HDTV through a Blu Ray player?

What would be a good Blu-Ray Player? What cables would I need?

  • I'm thinking about buying a cheap, decent Blu-Ray Player to hook up to my Westinghouse 32" Class LED-LCD 720p 60Hz HDTV, LD-3255VX television. I don't really care about it being set up for WiFi connection, Netflix or Pandora or anything like that. I just want something that I can use to only watch Blu-Ray DVD's. What would be a good brand of Blu-Ray player to purchase that would be compatible with my television? Can I choose a different brand of Blu-Ray player than what my television is? Also, if I use the Blu-Ray player for Blu-Ray DVD's only and not for the WiFi, do I need to purchase any kind of connecting cable for the unit. If so, what kind(s)? Thanks.

Panasonic would be the best one in the market, they are the most reliable player in the market. Best Buy had them for $79. I own a first generation player made by Panasonic model BD-10 which is over 4 years old and played over 300 blu ray disc movies without one problem. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for. Hope this will help you out.

You can try www.bestbluraydeals.com for the best prices on BluRay players from Amazon merchants. You will want an HDMI cable - search Amazon for "MediaBridge" for good HDMI cables that run $9-$20. I have wired my daughters system with them and they are well built and work well.

any player will work, just depends on how much you want to spend, you will need a hdmi cable from player to tv.

I'd say get a playstation 3. It's the best for me, might be the best for you as well. You need an hdmi cable.
