What's a good HD reciever?

I have a hd tv and DVD player, and a Yamaha reciever that hd runs through. but i can;t get sound to comes out?

  • I have the HD out from the TV into the reciever, and HD cables out from the HD DVR, and DVD player into the reciever. But I can't get any sound from the surround sound speakers. I can watch TV through the reciever and hear sound from the Tv speakers but thats it. Those are the only cables I have hooked up, am I missing something hear?

  • Answer:

You likely need audio in cables from the cable box to your receiver. Even might need audio out from the receiver to the TV.

Other answers

How many ports do you have on the back of your TV. Is the Yamaha receiver for the cable or satellite. If think the receiver should be connected to one of the input ports of the TV. If you are using the green, red, and blue cables, you still need an audio cable. You really need to refer to your TV manual to hook all of this stuff up.
