How do I hook up a computer to my home stereo system?
-
Basically I would like to listen to music off the computer (youtube) on my home stereo speakers. There is a home theater receiver.

Answer:
It all depends what inputs (on the receiver) and outputs (on the computer) you have. If you have an average computer with an average receiver, you can probably use a 1/8th inch audio jack to RCA stereo audio cable. Your computer will have at least either a headphone or speaker output somewhere for the 1/8th jack. The end that plugs into your receiver will split to a red and white plug. The end that plugs into your computer will look like a standard 1/8" headphone jack. Go to RadioShack and ask them for this. If it isn't long enough, get an extension cable for the 1/8th side.
