How to have multiple audio outputs?

How to hook up a stereo with different audio outputs?

  • here's the thing: I have a stereo that only has RCA inputs and outputs (one of each) but I have another broken stereo whose speakers have a different audio output that I don't know what it's called (a thin red and black wire that connects to red and black square, correspondingly, that you pull up and insert it there) and my question is... What do I do to get those speakers (red and black wired) connected to my other stereo that only has RCA inputs?? Like what do I need to buy?? thanks for your answer!!

  • Answer:

Power Amplifiers and /or Receivers have a Push-and-insert connector for the speakers. The RCA connectors you mention on the other Amp you have may just be Low-level signal outputs to be connected to a power amp, but they wouldn't be for connecting them directly to speakers. First find out what is your Stereo, find the User's Manual and see if it has a power out section, or if it just a pre-amplifier. Post the Brand and Model Number.
