How can I connect my tv to my projector?

  • im thinking of buying a digital projector but i don't know if it's possible to connect my tv cable into the projector?

    A projector is a display that takes the place of the screen portion of your TV. It only needs a video signal since it either doesn't have (or only has very small) speakers. You don't specify, but you can't directly connect cable to a projector, it has to go through a cable box first to convert the broadcast signal into useable video and audio. Cable boxes will have one or more of the following video jacks: RCA (composite), S-video (DIN connector), red/green/blue RCA jacks (component) or HDMI or DVI outputs. One of these -- preferably DVI or component should be connected to the projector (either directly or via your A/V reciever). The audio signal (red/white RCA), Optical (square jack) or coax (orange RCA) would then be connected to a suitable input on your A/V receiver ... and from there to the speakers. Hope this helps.

depending on what connection method you want to use (red yellow white rca, ps/2 style s-video connection or red green blue component connection) and if both devices support it you should be able to connect tv to projector

In addition to the above you also should have a VGA (15pin blue connector) on your pj.
