What is a good lamp-free projector?

Lumenlab projector question. Anyone familiar with eVo v1.2 Projector from Lumenlab for $499.00?

  • Hi-I am looking to get a projector for my basement to watch movies on. I don't mind spending money on a projector, but I can't see spending hundreds of dollars on replacement lamps. I came across this projector from Lumenlab.com that is an eVo v1.2 Projector. The price is 499.00 and the replacement bulbs are only $30.00. I was wondering if anyone has one of these projectors and how well they work. I know that it is not going to be the best projector on the market, but I am looking for a compromise. Anyone have any suggestions of a good projector with less expensive replacement bulbs. Thanks!

  • Answer:

Well, I can't seem to find a spec sheet on this thing so I have no idea on lumens, contrast ratio, etc. I did notice however that it is a native 480p which is E (hanced) DTV and not H (igh) DTV. Although $30 bucks is a very small proce to pay for a bulb I think you have to decide how much you will use it. Would you rather pay $150 every year or so for true HD or are you satisfied with Enhanced Definition TV and not changinf the bulb. I'd take a look at the Epson line. I paid $130 for my Epson lamp last time. weeder
