Why is Toronto Masters called Rogers Masters?

Rogers Cable Toronto - I am subscribed to the basic cable package and have the Explorer 3000 converter.?

  • The Rogers user guide says there is no way that connections can be made so that you can tape one station while viewing another but I'm sure that someone out there must know how to do it. I only have to connect my TV, the Rogers box, and my VCR/DVD combo. With only my VCR/DVD and the TV, you would press "Record" then "TV/VCR" and you could watch something different than what is being recorded... this is what I want to know how to do but with the Rogers cable box added into the mix. Thanks in advance!!

  • Answer:

There are two solutions to this situation. The first solution which is by far the easiest and most beneficial would be to upgrade your current digital box to a PVR. This would cost around $15 per month more, but makes it incredibly easy to record any digital channel while viewing any other digital channel on your subscription. It would also allow you to pause live television as well as other advanced features. The second solution may be cheaper (no additional monthly charge) but it does not offer the same benefits. For this option, you would be required to purchase a cable splitter, an A/B switch and two additional short coaxial cables. It's also more complicated to setup, and only allows viewing of any analog channel (below channel 70) while taping any digital channel on your subscription. If you can follow the instructions on the link below, then this may offer a solution.
