How do i connect my television to my music system so when i watch tv,i hear the sound from the music system?

i connect my stero to the audio output on my vcr ...works great

I do this all the time. If you have a VCR, then just get a pair of stereo RCA cables (the standard ones, which are used for everything you jack into your stereo amp). Then you watch TV through the VCR, with the VCR plugged into your stereo as "aux" or "video". Your TV might also have an output jack on the back, in which case the VCR would not be necessary.
