Can I use a Logitech multi media speaker to a 50 inch TV?

How do I use my 5.1 speakers on tv with no audio-outputs?

  • I have a vizio 32 (vw32l) inch hdtv that i love, i use it for tv,dvd,and as a pc monitor, i mainly use the logitech (x-530) 5.1 speakers for my pc, i connect it to my sound card because it has the 3 5.1 outlets. when i watch a dvd movie i can connect the audio outs to my speakers using a converter that converts the 3 speaker connections into 2 rca's (white and red) so i can use it for my dvd player, but i want to be able to hear regular antenna tv through my speakers (i know not all shows have 5.1 sound) but theyre way better and have more bass than the speakers on the tv: http://www.vizio.com/products/detail.aspx?pid=25 for input and output info click on the details tab *i just noticed that the bigger versions of my tv have audio out so i guess its not a feature that my tv comes with since its cheaper, but i want to find a way around this can anyone provide a setup or combination of converters/splitters to get regular television audio through my 5.1 speakers?

    Your best bet is to get a discrete system designed for as a home theater system. Or you can get the right PCI cards to make your computer function as an AV center, but this will be more complicated.

You can't use directly on you T V, try other peripherals to able to use such a T V box or a old VHS that has stereo functions. Connect it though the peripherals available. You can also use a satellite T V receiver.

I dunno if you can still find vcr's that do this, but I have in the past set up the antenna through vcr, then the picture to the tv and speaker outputs to a receiver. You may want to invest in either cable or satellite, then you can do the same thing as with the vcr but w/ the cable and/or satellite box.

dude...go to walmart and buy a home theatre dvd player...it will come with 5.1 speaker set w/sub for around 75-80 bucks and will hook up to your tv via rca, comp vid or s video.....you can watch tv too...
