How to connect Ps3 to Dynex DX-HTIB?

• I recently bought the Dynex DX-HTIB because it was cheap and meant for my room which is on the short side. When I bought it from BestBuy a lot of the reviews said it was great for gaming and movies alike, but there is where the problem start. All the buttons at the back are output with only 1 HDM port. I had to connect the device to my LG TV, but this way it only works when watching a movie and nothing else. I have tried using RCA cable from the Ps3 to the device but it doesn't work for some reason. The optical cable is out of the question since it only has output just like the Ps3. My last attempt was to connect an RCA adapter, which had a speaker plug, connect speaker plug to LG TV and then connect RCA to the AVI 1 in the back, but that did nothing. Help?!

  This is the problem with those HTIB systems very little flexability, what you need to do is connect the PS3 directly to the TV using HDMI or composite for video then connect the sound from the PS3 to the Dynex using RCA cables for sound you are probably only going to get stereo out of two speakers...this is just how those HTIB systems are set up...you are only going to get surround out of the built in DVD player and stereo out of anything else connected...make sure your using rca out on the ps3...
