How to watch bootleg movies on computer?

How do I watch movies on my TV from my computer?

  • I have everything set up, and I have no problems viewing my computer screen on my TV screen. However, when I put a DVD in the computer, I can use either Real Player or Nero Showtime to watch it. It shows up on the computer, but only the video does not appear on the TV. (Side note: movies watched from the Internet work fine, too). Is there anything I'm doing wrong? TIA.

  • Answer:

I had the exact same problem. In my case it was a laptop and I was connecting to the TV via S-Video. Netflix online wouldn't show up either ~unless~ I set it to full screen mode. Try setting the DVD player to full screen mode or different resolutions like 640x480 full screen. You might try looking for other video players as well. Also (before giving up anyway) try transcribing the videos into mpeg or another format and see if that goes. This may work for you because of the way DVD liscensing works (DVDs have to go through some weird decryption routine in order to play as a means to make people buy liscenses to play DVDs on their computers or something).

I'm sure you can find a DVI to RCA adapter somewhere. Honestly, that would seem like a waste just to watch movies from your TV on your Laptop.

ok, maybe your real player or nero is just acting up, give it some time to load.
