Xbox 360 - way to disable media center remote?
-
I have a Media Center PC in my room that I use as my DVR. I now have an xbox 360 in my room also. If my Xbox is off and I'm watching TV on my Media Center PC and hit the Green button, the xbox 360 turns on because it thinks I'm trying to use it as a media center extender. I do not want to use my Xbox 360 for media center, and I don't see a way to disable this in the xbox 360 settings. Is there a way? Or could I change IR channels or something? I'm using a remote that came with my avermedia TV tuner - it's not the original microsoft media center remote. And I'm running Media Center 2005 (not vista)

Answer:
Find the IR sensor in the front of the xbox and cover it with a piece of paper. The RF part should still work but will not interfere with the PC. Or, connect the xbox360 on a power strip. Turn the power strip off when you watch TV - with no power, the xbox can't turn on.
