Is it safe to use a Light Duty 1500 W Step Up Convertor for a Home Theatre System with 1000 W power ? Is it safe to use a Light Duty 1500 W Step Up Convertor for a Home Theatre System with 1000 W power ? Or should I go for a Heavy Duty transformer for appliances such as DVD Player,Home Theatre etc.My DVD Player and Home Theatre is only 1000 W.

Answer:
Light Duty scares me, because the OUTPUT on that light-duty inverter could be a Square Wave and not a SINE WAVE output (or sinusoidial output ) Look at the spec sheet and verify that it outputs a sine wave. Square Wave outputs will damage the capacitors and the regulator in your amplifier, causing you to have to have the amp repaired about every 6 months... Don't harsh your amp with a square wave inverter...
