Surround sound problems?

I'm having problems hooking up my Altec lansing pt8051 surround sound to my sharp aquos d44u?

  • Ok, so I hooked everything up, everythings plugged in, lights on the surround sound system are on, wireless is working, and I did the sound test and that is working as well. The video menu for the surround sound for the speakers comes up on the tv as well...however, I cannot get the sound to sync from the tv with the speakers. Any clue why?

  • Answer:

If you are trying to synchronize the sound coming from the TV with the sound created by the surround sound system, then there is usually an option on the surround sound system to apply a "delay" to the output of audio. You can find that option, if it is available, in the system menu. Granted, it is unusual to use audio from both the TV and the system as it creates two distinct sound qualities(lesser from the TV and greater from the system). I would recommend just muting your TV.
