I have ran a cable from the head phone jack to an adapter that I can hooh up the RCA cable to and still no sound. The TV has a jack in the back that the computer sound cable hooks into but I still get no sound. If there is anyone out there that can help please do so.This would be very appreciated. Lost in the 50's and can't figure this out.

You should not need an S-Video as Sci Fi Dave said (and S-Video is only video, and not yellow, red, and white.... those are composite cables). What video output are you using to connect the laptop to the HDTV? If it is VGA (blue connector) there should be an audio input next to it. The audio and video input on the TV need to be on the same source option (PC, Component, etc.) It's possible you have the video connected on one source and the audio on another. If your laptop has an HDMI output then you only need the one connection as HDMI does video and sound. Have you used headphones on the laptop to make sure that the headphone jack is working properly? Message me if you need any assistance.

Depends on what kind of connection you have from your video out on your laptop to your TV. If you have HDMI, coaxial, or USB, you probably just need to unplug your audio cable, restart the laptop, and make sure whatever media software you're running is set to send sound through the HDMI, coax or USB. If your computer uses S-Video or n-pin serial, you have a setting problem somewhere in the TV or Laptop- either the laptop isn't sending sound through the headphone jack regardless, or the TV isn't set to accept S-vid/serial and composite audio at the same time. You can troubleshoot this a little by watching TV with headphones on and listening for sound output from the laptop. If you have sound, then the problem is with the audio in on the TV. If in the extremely unlikely case that your laptop uses Yellow RCA composite out (like a VCR from the 80s) then make sure all your cable colors are matching on the input on your TV.

Okay you will more than likely need an S-Video cable (Red, White, Yellow) to hook it up to it. If you alreayd have that make sure have gone to setting and changed the audio from the latop to the cable to get the sound. If you are still ahving trouble I would call someoen and get some help. The S-Video cable should come in USB format that you would want to get. You would hook it up from the USB port in the Laptop then hook the colored ones up right into the cable. Hope this helps!

My husband set our computer sound through our tv and surround sound. All i know is we had to get a good video/audio card that had the right kind of output cables. we have NVIDIA and it has lots of options to put both the video and audio through the TV. IF you don't get a better answer or want more info email me and i'll ask my husband because he's brilliant at that kind of stuff.

hmm are you switching the input on the tv ? try that hit either input or source on the tv remote to switch over.. run the headphones jack to be sure into the red and white sound inputs on the tv and try to switch inputs on tv til u get sound.
