DIRECTV QUESTION?

A Directv question. What do you like and not like about Directv? Pros and cons?

  • I cuurently have cable through Comcast and with this new MLB Extra Innings thing going over to Directv, I'm seriously considering going with a satellite system company, but I have definately ruled out DISH Network. Therefore, what do you think about Directv...? Are they reputable? In my area of Massachusetts, not many people seem to have it, and I'm wondering why they don't. You would think that if Directv offers so much quality and more channels, and so on...that more people would switch, so... Why do you think that they aren't? Not just in my area, but all around. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I currently use Direct tv and other than an occassional signal loss during heavy rains..which last 1 to 10 minutes..depending on how fast the storm is moving..I enjoy their service.....tired of watching HBO?..drop it and watch starz for one night and switch back the next day....never had a single personality conflict or had to deal with somebody that didn't know their job...I also use comcast for my internet connection....sat. internet is expensive to get and not much faster than dsl. go with the Direct tv. P.S...look for some kind of sign -on discount via the phone company or some other service provider..can save you 10 or twenty a month..plus you get a 50 dollar bonus for signing someone up.

Rates go up; when raining, it doesn't get clear reception When the power goes off, you don't have to wait for the cable wire to go up. All you need is the electric wire.

i have had Directv for years , and is much better than cable , even cable hi - definition . it very reliable

Picture....Ok, a little to much signal compression. Dishnetwork is better Customer service...Very poor Channels..... a lot of channels for your money Rate increases...not nearly as drastic as cable. Always a better value Sports....If you are a sports fan DirecTV is the best HDTV...Ok right now. Many channels have been promised soon but their new HD dish is not good. Many service issues Corporate responsibility...None. Rupert Murdoch need one say more!
