Can a blu ray player connect to the internet?

Why won't my blu ray player connect to the Internet?

• I recently bought a Magnavox Blu Ray Player. It has a built in wifi adapter and I connected it to our wireless internet yesterday and watched some netflix. Then I watched a DVD, and wanted to watch netflix after and it said that it wasn't connected to the internet. So I connected it again and everything was fine until I actually picked a movie out. Then it said that it was not connected. Now I tried it again this morning and wouldn't connect. Now it won't even find our wireless router anymore. I've tried unplugging the blu ray and the router numerous times and it still doesn't work. The internet works on the laptops so any one got any ideas?

  I would take the magnavox player back to where you got it for a refund or exchange it for a new one...it could be an issue of distance if the player is too far away from the router but it sounds more like a defective Wifi adaptor inside the player....You might try placing the router higher up and the player higher up to see if you can get a better signal.....
