Can I connect my PS3 to this surround sound system?

Connect Surround Sound System to PS3 HELP!! =(?

  • Connect Surround Sound System to PS3 HELP!! =(? Alright so I want to connect my PS3 to my surround sound system so I can play and watch movies with it. I hear about HDMI and stuff but its confusing and idk if I have the right system. My Sound system is a Pioneer SX-315, Ya its pretty damn old and idk if its possible, and also I know its cheap but hey we cant afford the good stuff. -__- anyways, is it possible to do so?? if so....how and what will I need?     Connect HDMI from PS3 to TV for video then optical cable from PS3 to receiver for audio.

you need to use the digital optical input on the stereo and the digital optical output on the PS3 amazon do cables. simply search for 'optical cable'. they are pretty cheap and there is no difference between a really expensive cable and a cheap £3 cable as with any digital cable. you should see a red light when you remove the plastic dust cover.
