Will this remote work with my DVD player?

Does any type of universal remote wil work for my dvd player?

  • I got this 5 disc progressive scan dvd player dvd-c631p from samsung. But it doesnt have a dvd remote so what i wana know is will any type of univers remotencontrol for dvds for example wil a rga, phillips, etc. Universal remote work on my samsung dvd player or do i have to buy a samsung universal remote for a dvd player.

  • Answer:

Any universal remote should work fine, given that Samsung is a popular brand. You can buy a remote at any dollar store, and it should come with instructions. This will show you how to set up the remote to work with the device. There should also be a list of devices included, along with the unique devices codes. Most devices have a 4 or 5 digit code that is used by the remote. Once you set this code in the remote, you should be set! Note: Brands often have multiple device codes. You may have to use trial and error to get the right code for your DVD player. Hope this helps!

Any one should work. When you buy a universal remote it comes with a paper that has the brands and under the brands it has models of TVs and DVD players and all that stuff. Just find your brand and model on the paper and it gives you a code to type in on the remote and it should work.

While most should work fine, I highly recommend the Harmony line. You program it with your computer and it can control your entire entertainment system.
