How do I use my car speakers with my home system?

How to use car speakers for a home audio and laptop build?

• I have 2 new pairs of Lanzar opti 2 and 3 way components speakers (5 1/4's & 6x9's) that I won't be using because i've decided to go with 4 pairs of Cresendo mp6's and 4 extra tweeters (2 Crescendo xts and 2 Selenium dt150's). I'm thinking about either building boxes for them or getting them premade if I can find some. What I need to know is what materials that I need to covert the speakers into one badazz system for mainly laptop use to watch movies and play music and possibly for home audio. What kind of amplifier would i need.....a car's or some other kind? What kind of wires,jacks, just mainly everything it'll take for the builds. Thanks

  It's not practical to use car amplifiers in the house because you need too large a 12 volt power supply. You can do it with an AVR as long as the speaker impedance isn't too low. It will be ok if they are 4 ohms as long as you don't try to power more than one set at a time.
