Is there a way to connect home theater speakers to T.V?

Is there a way to connect only a subwoofer to a TV without a home theater?

  • I'm interested in buying a subwoofer to boost the bass on my TV. My TV has a 3.5mm standard headphone output jack, that's it. I'm nOt interested in buying a full-blown home theater system, so is there any way to connect a subwoofer to the TV's headphone jack, and still being able to hear sound through my TV speakers?

    Noooo are you crazy!? Tvs are NOT made with sub woofer outsputs or inputs.you need to get a home theatre reciever,if.you dont want to spend.much get a value package.or home theatre in a box......tvs are not made to handle a sub or any external speaker..even if you get some kund of adapter to connect it to your sub,,it will not suply.your sub will the powernit.needs,also the gauge on a headphone jack is wayyy to small for any sub ,theres a reason why it was made to fit.into.your ipod and not sub

Nope, can't do it that way. Plugging in to the headphone jack cuts out the TV speakers. You will need to find another way to get the audio feed to your subwoofer. But if there really aren't any other audio outputs I don't see how you would do it.
