What's test best way to connect your laptop into your surround sound system?

  • I've spent ages downloading music onto my laptop and want to play it through the surround sound system either connecting directly to the surround sound or through the TV->surround. I've listed below all the different connections on each device - hope you can help xo The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite Pro Surround sound system is Sony AV System linked to a Samsug 32" Plasma On the laptop there is a 15-pin external monitor port video out jack I.LINK (IEEE 1394) Port The TV has loads of things on the back of it 3 Component In connections Pr/Pb/Y DVI In - Audio Right and Left PC In - Audio and 15 Pin Audio Out - Right and Left Surround Sound only has Component Video Out connections - Pr/Pb and Y

    Get a cord that connects from the headphone output to the white and red input plugs on your surround sound receiver or t.v. You can get it at Radio Shack for about $7-10.

already has a rca out ? then just use normal rca cable just dont use the yellow (its video) , is your audio out isnt rca then its mini jack, just goto your electronic store and ask for a mini jack to rca audio male ends

Use headphone -out jack on laptop to any AUX - in on your reciever. Adjust laptop volume about a third to half way up. You dont need to run thru your tv, as the extra wiring can create buzzes, humming, etc.
