Can portable DVD players with Divx certificate play data DVD discs with divx encoded .avi files?I want to know

I want to know this bcoz I want to watch my downloaded avi files using my TV and a portable dvd player (without transcoding avi files to DVD (.vob) that takes hours to finish). Can any1 suggest brands that are reliable?

yes absolutely.i have two philips they are $57 bucks @wal-mart i have had for a year now,they now have other cheaper brands,just use nero and make a data dvd,or another neat trick if you love music .make a dvd mp3,with nero,but instead just adding all songs just select the whole folder now you can browse on your tv to which folder you want to listen to with out them being all mixed up
