Surround Sound that has a good sub?

How can i lessen the sound of my surround sound sub woofer?

  • My sub woofer shakes the entire house while I'm getting fine sound from the speakers. Is there any way to maybe even disconnect the subwoofer?

  • Answer:

It would have helped if you had said what make and model subwoofer this was, how it is connected, and so on. A powered sub has a power plug, and often a volume knob that you could use to power the output of the sub.

Aside from disconnecting or lowering the volume, there is one other thing you can do. That is use a sub woofer isolator. This is a platform for the speaker to sit on that isolates it from the floor making it not shake said floor as much. http://www.amazon.com/Auralex-Subwoofer-Isolation-15x15x2-inch-Charcoal/dp/B001140OZ0/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1330134695&sr=1-1-catcorr and http://www.amazon.com/Auralex-SUBDUDE-Theater-Isolation-Platform/dp/B003EM17IK/ref=sr_1_cc_2?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1330134695&sr=1-2-catcorr

Most receiver have a volume control on the subwoofer, which you can increase or decrease. Also most subwoofer have a volume control on them for you to adjust. It would have helped if you mentioned the model of the system you have. Hope this will help you out.
