Cheapest Way To Convert VHS tapes to DVD?
-
I have about 8 VHS tapes I want converted to DVD with about 18-20 hours of footage. Some of those conversion businesses get expensive. I am wondering if anyone has converted their VHS tapes to DVD and what the cheapest way is to doing it.

Answer:
$120.00 gets you a DVD recorder....just play back the OLD tapes on the VCR you have and straight into the DVD's input jacks..... But I'll WARN you...... The VHS signal coming off that tape....it is really really LOW QUALITY...You'll look at your DVD copy and think to yourself "OMG! I just bought a Crappy DVD recorder! I'm taking it back and buy a more expensive one!" Go ahead......but it won't improve the Crappy VHS signal..... The alternative is the Production Companies....NOW they MAY HAVE signal enhancement equipment..... I'm thinking SMPTE time analyser perhaps...NO!! .... ummm, THEY're called TIME BASE CORRECTORS!! That's what they use to enhance the VCR TAPE SIGNAL! Ask any production company if they employ Time-base correctors during the recording process...NOW that is what you want if they DO use it.... If it's not used.....Don't pay for production work..... But note....Production Studios have thousands of dollars worth of equipment to improve the old VCR tape signal....and the best piece of equipment they have at their disposal is the TBC. And You my friend....DON'T Hope it's not VHS tapes of your marriage...or you growing up...those are worth the production studio.

or visit VHS-to-DVD.com and copy your home video tapes to dvd. You can get a pretty good conversion at a reasonable price from a lot of places. But what are most of these companies lacking? Care and attention to detail! Other ways you get totally amateurish product done with domestic equipment. link: http://www.vhs-to-dvd.com/

I would go ahead and buy a Yamaha DVD RW. You can record all your VHS onto it and record television on it. Yamaha also last for a long time and they are very high quality and are Worth the investment

look for a friend who has a dvd recorder or make friends with a techie who owns lots of equipment. My brother used his computer ... don't know the details of how right now.

Go to a photo processing store and have them do the conversion for you. Otherwise, you might want to invest in a DVD recorder. _ _ _ _ _
