How to hook up Xbox to an older TV?

I need help finding out how to hook my Xbox console to play through my Surround Sound System into the TV?

  • I just bought a surround sound system, and I'm having trouble finding out how to hook my Xbox up to the system, so it can play through the TV. I'm almost positive that it's possible, because on the system, it has an equalizer called "gaming." But it appears to be impossible to run it through, because it doesn't have any video input slots. Do I need to buy any adapters for it to work? Or am I just not doing something right? (For the record, other than the fact I can't get it to play my xbox, I am absolutly satisfied with this product.) Here's a link to the exact model that I bought at wal-mart. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5622735&povid=cat77622-env7959-module61589-rLink3

Other answers

If your t.v. has a/v inputs, you can connect it to your t.v. and then connect your audio output from the t.v. to your stereo.
