Does someone know how to download movies from the Comcast DVR to my computer?

Can someone tell me how & where to download high quality HD movies (1080p) that I can watch on my HDTV?

  • Hello, Can anyone out there let me know of a way download and save high-quality HD content (movies and TV shows) and then let me know how I can watch them on an HDTV? I've heard of people saving hundreds & sometimes thousands of movies to an external hard drive. I know you can watch those back on a computer on Windows Media Player or on Quicktime, but is there a way to watch them on a large screen HDTV - taking advantage of high definition? If you do answer, please explain in simple steps...lol.. I'm not a computer expert. Thanks very much for any help.

  • Answer:

You would first need to purchase the BluRay of said movie. Without this important step you are committing intellectual property theft and can face a fine of $250,000 and up to five years in federal prison. Next, you will need software to "rip" the bluray into an HD video file. Then you will need a computer which is connected to your television, and software such as Windows Media Center (included in most versions of Windows 7) or XBMC.

since you are asking this in Yahoo Answers you probably will be one of those guys who actually get caught downloading movies. its pretty easy to get caught with bittorrent unless you know what you are doing. so just buy a blu-ray player that has at least one of these apps: netflix.com hulu.com blockbuster.com
