How do you get sound on a projector?

  • I have set up my playstation to my projector and i can see the picture, but i cant get any sound because on the back of my projector ( Toshiba TDP-T9 ) you can only fit the yellow cable in, there are holes that say audio in and audio out but the white and red cords don't fit in them?? Can any please help me P.S if i have playtv can i watch that over my projector with my PlayStation plugged in??

  • Answer:

Most projectors don't have an amplifier and speaker(s) (and those that do are really only good for speech) ... so you either can't or shouldn't get sound on a projector. It's best to feed the audio to a separate amplifier and speakers. Ideally this is your music system or surround sound HT system, but in a pinch you can use computer speakers (which have a built in amp) via suitable adapters to match plug types (if necessary). Since your projector has audio in/out jacks you can connect using an adapter (I'm guessing you need a dual RCA to mini-stereo) ... but as I said, you would be better to use an external setup.
