Difference Between DVD+ and DVD-, which one does my laptop burn?

  • Whats the difference between DVD+ and DVD-, i got a new laptop and i want to know what DVD's i should burn one? I already have a pack of DVD+R, can I use these? My laptop is a sont vaio and it has "DVD±RW (+R DL)" burner and what set of Re-writeable DVD's should i use? DVD+RW or DVD-RW?     Yes the ± means it can do both + and -, both will work the same, just buy the cheaper one, I have the exact same type of writer, great for burning DVD's. Don't forget to download dvdshrink software, just run a search for it, it's free and allows you to copy most movies and shrinks them to fit on a 4.7 Gb DVD disc.

They are not double layer and double side they are the to different DVD formats you can burn on. You would have to go to your laptop makers sight and look in the specs.

dvd+ basically gives u a menu for the dvd and dvd- is without a menu. i use - they work great and they are most common.
