PC to TV connection, "no signal?

Problems with PC to TV connection?

  • My parents want to be able to stream Netflix on our TV, so I got a PC to TV converter box & we got all the cables & connectors we needed. I tested it on my TV & it works fine. My TV is about 5.5 years old & is one of those little ones with the built in DVD player. When I connected it to our big TV in the living room, it doesn't work. At first it had a picture, but it was split up & had lots of static, etc. The sound was also horrible. Someone, I messed around with the connections & got the sound working, but then there was no picture. This TV is at least twice as old as mine, probably around 15 years old. Is it too old for this to work or is there some setting on this TV that I have to change?

  • Answer:

If a dvd player works with the TV, the compter with TV converter should work with it also. On the TV you would need the same setting as when you have a dvd player connected to it. The converter must of course output someting that the TV will accept. **Check your audio setup see if the computer audio jack gets put into the converter. There should be a cable for that.
