Home theater sub is not working?

How can I get my computer to play sound through the other speakers of my home theater system?

  • It is currently hooked up to my home theater system by a fiber optic cable and plays great through the front two speakers, but the sub, center, and back L and R do not have any sound. I tested the speakers and they are on and working, but the computer isn't sending the signal I guess? Halpppp.

  • Answer:

If you want signals to feed those inputs you'll need a sound card that supports them. Or, you might be able to switch your amplifier to feed a synthesized version of those signals to those speakers.

Other answers

You do not have your computer set to play out surround sound, Or the audio you are playing is only for a Stereo setup. You can try changing your settings (It varies per operating system- Google it), and then try setting your computer to synthesize the sound.
