How much is it to get sky hd recording?

My mum wants to cancel her sky hd subscription and revert back to the basic sky digibox. Can she?

  • She lives in a flat with a communal dish and she cannot record her programmes without having the channel she is recording playing on the tv at the same time. Sky have told her she needs to have her own minidish but they are not allowed on the flats which are 3 storeys high. This has something to do with it having a double feed or something so she can record when she wants and what she wants. She has had it approx 2 months now but has decided she isnt getting her moneys worth from it as its not doing what it is supposed to do. When the engineer fitted the sky hd she was not present at the time but i was and the engineer told me that she would have to watch the channel she was recording at the same time as she wasnt going to get the full benefits from her hd set up. I told him to go ahead and fit it anyway as she really wanted it in her flat. Can we send it back without a penalty

  • Answer:

Sadly no,because it's still under contract, but you could say that your mum wasn't getting the full benefits (not able to record one channel while watching another) and that the installation went ahead without her being made aware of this.If that fails you may as well as see out the remainder of the contract as the cancellation penalty would be equal to the remaining 10 monthly payments.Once the contract is up and you cancel there's no penalty and the set top box is your mum's to keep.
