How do I hook up my VCR if i have Dish Network?

How do I hook a VCR up so I can take shows with Dish Network?

  • I know you can use a VCR when you have a dish I'm just really unsure how to hook it up and then how to program it so it tapes the show I want.

  • Answer:

The easiest way to hook it up is to use the coax cable coming from the Dish Net receiver that says "OUT TO TV". From there you will screw the other end of the cable into the VCR input that says "IN FROM ANT". Now from the VCR is "OUT TO TV"-hook a cable from there to your tv. To record a program you will have to use your VCR remote & select channel 3 or 4 on the VCR (when you find the right one, leave it on there), then push record. Try doing a short segment before you need it to record a complete program. Programming the VCR to record at different times depends on the model so you may need to break out the manual as most VCRs are different.
