I need to put VHS tapes on my computer.

Can a Dazzle Capture card record VHS Tapes?

  • Hey; I need to record some VHS tapes and put them onto my computer so i can convert them to DVD. If i buy a Dazzle capture card (Will probably be a HD one) Can i just use it it copy VHS tapes onto my computer? They are commonly used on xbox's but i want to use it for my reasons above.

I just started putting a bit of information about transferring VHSs to DVDs on a web page (see the source block below), but I have a lot more information to add to the page. Check it out now if you're inclined, then come back in a week or so for more information. If you're archiving a lot of tapes, keep in mind the old adage "garbage in, garbage out" - in other words, make sure your VHS is thoroughly cleaned to get rid of as much distortion and snow as possible when you make the move to digital.
