How comes it's common to me for a CD album to sound a bit like it's scratched but it's really rare for me ...?
-
to have a game disk which sounds like it has been scratched. My oldest game disks are from 2004. I look after my things well, the CD albums that sound scratched don't always sound scratched after i have given them a wipe and they aren't too old.

Answer:
In audio CDs, the whole disc is audio. In games, audio is very small part, and it is in a "loop". After the audio is stored in memory it can play with no errors for the whole game.
