Why wont my dish network remote control work?

I just got dish on saturday and the remote has been working fine until today the main remote will not work with the Satellite, but the second remote works on both TVS and if you channel on 1 of the TVS it changes the channel on the other TV... so what should i do and I am not sure if this maters but yesterday i had to unhook the red white and yellow wire thing so i could use my dvd player?

Hey there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. It sounds like you may have put the RCA cables in the incorrect spot on the back of your DISH receiver. The cables need to be in the spot where there is a small green TV1 above it not the spot where there is a blue TV2. Once you change the RCA cables back to the correct spot your TV should work fine. I think Cheri is probably correct. However, it sounds like you have switched to single from dual mode. Open the door on the front and press the mode button, see if this fixes the problem. If not do as Cheri instructed.
