How do I know if my computer can run the Hauppauge HD PVR?

Can my computer run an Hauppauge HD PVR?

  • My System Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3 Lenovo Intel Pentium Dual CPU T 2390 @ 1.86GHz 1.86GHz, 0.99 GB of RAM Required HD PVR System Requirements: Note: when playing back video recordings made with the HD PVR, a fast CPU and at least 256MB of graphics memory are needed. Processor Requirements (minimum): Dual core CPU 2.0GHz or faster Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit), Windows Vista or Windows XP service pack 2 (32-bit). Graphics with 256MB memory (or greater) Sound card CD-ROM drive for installing the HD PVR software

  • Answer:

I have found that the more RAM helps and a good video card just for the capturing as for that your Specs are within norm. Their software does use the system resources more than others so turning off all the background programs helps as well. Update: In any usage for video capturing you need to max the RAM (4GBs is far better) if at all possible it really does make the Diff on a laptop on a Tower thats a another story... .....this will help. Go to My Computer right click go to Properties then choose from the tabs Advanced and then choose under Performance and click Settings then click the one titled 'Adjust for best performance'
