i have a adapter not a router so how would i get live if it says i keep failing the ip adress

Answer:
You need either a router with DHCP server - so the xbox can get a valid IP address - or you need to set-up the IP manually. If you have a wireless adapter for your xbox, you need to set-up properly to connect to your wireless home router.
