Hauppague HD PVR M2TS files don't work on Sony Vegas 8.0 or any other media player?

I am recording gameplay from my Xbox 360 using the HD PVR and every time i have something recorded and try and put it into Sony Vegas i get an error message saying the file is an unsupported format, can anybody help me with this problem Thanks

Currently Sony used an app they have you need to get it off their disc its called 'Picture Motion Browser' yet many just use VLC as for converting Vegas doesn't really do that well with M2TS. So look at getting MPEG Streamclip and convert the file to a format that you want to use.....yeah that stinks we get that a lot using other platforms and video captures that dont work with what we have on our computers...... Its a good application and its free also we use it a lot. http://www.squared5.com/
