Can I view freeview channels through a sky plus box without a valid sky viewing card?

I'm looking for a new freeview box but someone has suggested getting a sky plus box instead as this will allow freeview channels even though I don't have a sky card. is this right?
Answer:

No as you need a freeview box to view their channels. Freeview is received via an aerial whereas Sky comes in via a satellite dish. You can buy a freeview box from about £20 upwards in lots of places these days.

You'll still need a card to access Sky broadcasts. Even the free Sky channels. You won't get freeview because that comes via a digital signal and not via Satellite. Get a digi box they're cheap.
