Help with TiVo please?

Need help with this TiVo thingie. Please read details below.?

• My parents were away, so I went over to their house to check on the pets and decided to stay for a while to keep them company. My parents have TiVO, and for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to watch television normally. Let me tell you what happened and hopefully you can tell me what did I do wrong. 1. I turned the TV on, pushed the "TV Guide" button, now the list of programs showed up, I highlighted the station I wanted and pushed "Select", now TiVO showed up telling me if I want to record the program, choose "Select", but it didn't tell me what to do if I don't want to record. So, I pushed the TiVO button and TiVO control center showed up, I scrolled down to select "Watch TV LIve", now the screen went to some random station and no matter how I used the channel up-and-down button, I could get the TV to stay on the station I want. I was livid and said to myself, no wonder the TiVO symbol looks like a devil, it is a devil.

  You don't watch TV normally with TiVo, The TiVo records TV as it happens. You choose your viewing from the Now Playing list.
