How do I embed .srt subtitles on a video if I have a Mac?

How do I bring avi. and srt. files together to where I can see the subtitles while watching the video always?

  • I have a avi. file and a srt. file that goes with the movie and everything and both of them has the same name. But when I open the avi. file it doesn't play with the subtitles. I tried countless # of programs to combine it but it still doesn't work. I also tried to see if I could do HJSplit but it still didn't work. I want to burn this video on a dvd as well. I need to see every step on how to bring them together. Something that I will not have to buy and something very simple and easy.
