How do I set up my set top box?

How do I continue to receive analog reception with a HD set top box plugged in?

• So I just bought a HD digital receiver (using it on a fairly old tv but I get digital channels now so that's great). However, the previous antenna I was using is now plugged into the set top box (so that I can get the HD reception - set top box won't receive digital signals without the antenna). Problem is, now that the antenna is plugged into the hd set top box, I no longer receive reception for analog channels. I would like to be able to revert back to analog channels at times due to the tv guide being slightly different between analog and digital tv. How can I go about doing this? Apart from unplugging the antenna cable from the STB and replugging it back directly into the tv. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  Are you in the U.S.? If so, your question is confusing because there are no analog stations on the air except for a few low-power special purpose stations in limited areas. It would also help to know the make and model of your "HD set top box." But in general, you could rig a simple A-B switch to deliver two separate inputs to your TV tuner. See the link for an example. If your "HD set top box" has a coaxial output (and therefore not really HD), you could use such a switch to select between that and basic cable service (no box). Edit your question with the missing info for a better answer. What set top box do you have, describe your antenna, and fully explain what else you want to connect to your TV.
