Why is the Channel Cw not working?

I used to get channel 46.1 46.2 and some other channel like the CW channel?

• i used to live upstairs (this is a 2 story apartment complex im living in) and i had to move to another apartment downstairs, well i used to get 46.1, 46.2 and the cw channel when i lived upstairs but now i cant get them anymore since i moved downstairs, what is the problem with this, the landlord will not allow antennaes to be installed on the roof of the complex either. i have a rca converter box and i just have some antennae that someone gave me i dont know what the brand is called or anything.

  Unfortunately, the answer is very simple. When you reduce the elevation of a low-efficiency TV antenna (which includes all indoor antennas), you lower the signal voltage that it can deliver to the TV. That means that channels you could get on an upper floor of an apartment won't make it on a lower floor. Since you're locked into an indoor antenna, you *might* get some more channels by upgrading to a better one. There are a lot of junky indoor antennas for sale that salesmen will swear to be the latest and the greatest. Ignore the hype and consider the one in the link. It's rated superior by real experts in this business, and it's the only one I would buy. But again, keep your expectations low. The ground floor of an apartment building is a death trap for TV reception with an indoor antenna.
