How to watch HDTV on directv standard dvr?

I own my directv dvr and i cancelled my directv service , why cant i watch the stuff i have recorded on the dv

  • i dont understand why i cant watch programs i recorded on my dvr even if i disconnected my service since i bought and own this dvr reciever

  • Answer:

You should be able to. I've watched shows on a DVR that was shipped from another state, then connected to my TV, then the DVR was shipped overseas to the owners, where they then watched the shows - that had been recorded months prior.

Even if you own the DVR receiver that doesn't mean it's going to give you the functions automatically. That's a SERVICE that you are no longer paying for. Even TiVo subscribers need to pay a fee to watch what they've recorded.
