How do I record from dvr to my vcr?

Record onto a vcr from dish network dvr?

  • i have a dish network HD dvr. i want to record a program from the dvr onto the vcr. but i cant seem to get it to work. i tried hooking up the vcr to the back of the dvr where the tv is connected, and also tried connecting it to a video channel on the back of my tv but its only good for playing back movies, not recording. please let me know the easiet way to record from my dvr.

    From your Dish DVR get the AV cables connect one end to the Dish DvR AV ports and than the other end to "IN" on the AV ports on the VCR. Than get an extra AV cables and connect them to the "OUT" on the AV ports on the VCR and the other end to the back of your Tv Set "IN" on the AV ports. Than change your tv channel to video 1, video 2, keep switching through videos until you see your Dish Network programming. P.S. make sure your VCR is on and on channel 3 or video 1 i believe. And make sure your Dish is on aswell. If this doesn't work msg me and ill give you a second method.

This is easy if your satellite receiver has an F-type coaxial output jack (the same connector as the antenna jack on your TV). If yours is similar to other cable and satellite receivers, that output will be analog channel 3 or 4, which you can select from the box's menu. Just connect a short patch cable between that jack and your VCR's antenna jack, set the VCR to channel 3 (or 4) permanently, and program it in the normal manner for the desired time. You'll have to leave your satellite receiver on the channel you want to record until the recording time ends.
